Do you miss your sisters? I would ask him every day for the past two weeks. Sometimes the answer was yes, and sometimes the answer was no.
If the laughter coming from the back seat of our car for four straight hours on Saturday is any indication, he missed them. Apparently absence does make the heart grow fonder, because the good times have continued to roll. He slept in Macy's bed Saturday night and Avery's bed last night. Yesterday they played for three hours on their own with not one argument. Not one. I am hoping this sibling love-fest will last at least a couple more days.
Of course the girls had an amazing time at camp and they can't wait to go back next year. They have returned to us just slightly more mature, independent and confident... exactly as I expected. Avery was the only lower division girls camper to complete the Leap of Faith on the ropes course and Macy was given the Spirit of the Ensemble award for drama. They teamed up for the length of the lake canoe race and came in 4th place. Twin power!
I am so happy to have them back home though. We are spending this week doing a whole lot of nothing and a whole lot of laundry. I am still amazed at how much dirt came home with them. I felt like I needed a shower after unpacking their luggage, even their books were covered in dirt. My washing machine's Extra Heavy Soil Level cycle has been renamed Post Camp Laundry Cycle.
So I am no longer checking the camp website every hour for pictures of their smiling faces and any indication that they are happy and having a fun time. Once again, all my littles are where they belong and right now, everything is right with the world.

So perfect. It's impossibly hard to let them go and impossibly fun to have them back!
